Newborn Photo Shoot

Jackson just passed his 1 month birthday! On Sunday the 24th, a whole month old! Here are some of his pictures to show his growth. We really have no idea how big he actually is, but he is putting the weight on. Look at those cheeks! His tummy is also huge, but really he has no bottom, poor boy. He is still too cute. He hasn't been out in public too much yet because we don't want him catching the flu or R.S.V. We are blessing him Sunday though, so he will make his debut! He hasn't even gotten to meet his cousin Kira yet. He met Trenton and Tessa yesterday. Trenton was so excited to see him, and let us know how cute he was. Trenton is so excited to have a boy cousin close to home. Those two will create quite a lot of havoc in a few years! Jackson is finding his tongue, and loves to stick it out. He also likes to cuddle with his daddy, chest to chest. Especially when he gets out of the tub and needs to warm up a bit. He hates being cold, so changing his diaper is always fun while he's screaming! So to punish us, he waits till we have his diaper off to do his business. Soon we'll just let him stay in his filth. That will solve everything!

Here is Jackson with his Aunt Kristin. She came to stay with us for a few days, as you can tell Jackson loves her. We had to capture this picture because his little leg was too cute. It was like he was trying to climb up her torso. He is too cute!!

Finally we got around to adding more photos. Here is Jackson with his Grandma and Grandpa Halterman. They were able to come see him in the hospital the day we finally got to leave. Surprise, he slept the whole time they were there!

Here is Jackson's first bath. His umbilical cord fell of today so he was excited to be able to get into the water. And here is a rare shot of him with his eyes open. He likes to eat and sleep, with a little awake time each day. That will change all too soon we are afraid! We love this little outfit with dinosaurs on it. He is dressed so cute, even though he rarely leaves the house.
Here are just a few more pictures! Him with his Red Sox booties. Of course he has to have those! He is also enjoying some tummy time. And the little blue outfit is what he wore home from the hospital. It's a little big, so we call it his "Homey G" outfit. The top says "Everyone's Favorite." And of course it is so true! Not that we are biased.

Here jackson is with his Grandma Schummer and Grandpa Glas. Funny how we didn't get any pictures of him with Mikelle's parents. We will have to ask them if they took any, and get those posted. We think Jackson looks like his Grandpa Glas. What do you think?
Here is the newest addition to our family! Jackson Robert Glas was born 1-24-08 at 3:24 PM. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20 inches long. He was about 4 weeks early, so we are glad he didn't go longer. He would have been huge! Labor was fast. Mikelle started contractions about 10 AM, and Jackson was here less than 5 1/2 hours later. Mikelle was glad it was short though because she wasn't able to get an epidural because of the Heparin she had been on during the pregnancy. Even though Jackson was so early, he is perfectly healthy. He had a little jaundice, but most babies do. The doctors weren't worried. We are both trying to adjust to having a newborn around. Luckily Mikelle's mom came for a few days to help us get adjusted. She spoiled us, so we're not sure what we will do now without her. Maybe try to grow-up and get used to being parents. One day that will sink in, but as for now it seems surreal. It has only been 8 days though.
Here are just a few pictures that were taken at about 36 weeks. For Mikelle's Baby shower her sisters got her professional pictures to document her pregnancy. We haven't even seen them all yet, these are just a few the photographer posted on her web site. We can't wait to see the rest of them. We will have to publish more when we get them all. We took about 3 hours total to take them all and it was a little chilly that morning! We had fun and the photographer is amazing. We will go back and get pictures of Jackson when he is about 2 weeks old. Those should be cute pictures, but when you have such a cute model!

Here are the few pictures we took over the Holidays. This outfit I am wearing was a dress my mom made and wore when she was pregnant with me and my siblings. I thought it was perfect for Christmas. Bobby said I looked like a pregnant Umpa Lumpa, but saved himself by saying I looked cute, so I forgave him! It's fun that I can wear some of my mom's maternity clothes. We also have a picture of my nieces and nephew Christmas morning. It was a long morning for the kids, but they loved unwrapping presents. Even Jackson got presents. This is a giraffe rocking horse type thing. It is so cute and will go perfect with his nursery which is jungle themed. Thanks mom and dad!!!

Baby News

I do have pictures to post, but those will come later. I like to keep you in suspense! Christmas in Prescott was great, even Jackson got some presents. We had an Ultra-sound today. Everything looks good, but Jackson is HUGE! He is 5 lbs. 3 oz. and I guess normal is around 4 lbs. He is in the 93% for weight, but 98% for head and tummy. The nurse said if I go to my due date, Jackson will be over 11 lbs.! No thank you! We hear from the Doctor tomorrow so we'll see what the plan will be, but the nurse today thought I'd give birth in the next few weeks. I don't mind missing a few weeks of being pregnant, as long as he is healthy.

Beard

For Halloween, Bobby decided he would grow out his beard. He liked it, so kept on growing it out. When we went to San Antonio the first of November, his family hated it and told him he needed to get rid of it. We both kind of liked it though. He decided to shave it before Thanksgiving, but not before we had documented it.

Pregnancy

Here are a few pictures of Mikelle's pregnancy to date. The one in the red shirt is about 4 months, but she still doesn't look pregnant, yet! The Red Sox shirt is one of her favorites, so of course there had to be a picture of it. She is about 6 months pregnant here, and starting to show a little. The last is of her in her Christmas pajamas. She is starting to show quite a bit now, although everyone tells her she is so small for being 31 weeks, or almost 8 months! One more week and 8 months it is!! February can't come soon enough though. Jackson ( the baby) is getting all up in her ribs and making life a little uncomfortable. All is going well though, so we can't ask for anything more.

More San Diego

Here we are at the San Diego Temple. One of the most beautiful temples. But it was really hot inside. Mikelle almost passed out, but that could also be a part of the pregnancy. We spent the morning there, then went to the beach after. The water was sooo cold, but Bobby braved it and got in anyways. Here is a great action shot of him boogey boarding and another of how HOTT he looked after. While he played in the water, Aunt Sandy and Mikelle read their books and soaked up some rays. It wasn't too hot, so it made for a nice relaxing time. After, Aunt Sandy took us to get Mexican food, and it was soo good. It was a fun weekend where we were just able to relax and spent time together. Also, it was Mikelle's first time to meet Aunt Sandy, which was cool.

San Diego

Here are some pictures we took while on our trip to San Diego to visit Bobby's Aunt Sandy. These pictures are from the San Diego Zoo. We spent most of the day there walking and seeing all sorts of creatures. The first one is of Bobby Flamingo Dancing. (It is actually pronounced Flamenco Dancing, as most of you may know, but the funny thing was about a week before we went, it came out our sister, Kristin, had always thought it was Flamingo Dancing.) When we saw the flamingos, we knew what we had to do! She loved this picture and the reminder that we never forget. Next is a picture of the tortoises. They are being friendly, if you know what we mean. Bobby had to take a picture of it. It is a guy thing, because there were a few other boys taking pictures, even video tapes! It was a little funny. The last two are of us with a pretend gorilla. How can you go to the zoo and not "Monkey Around" a little bit?! We saved Bobby the embarrassment of posting the picture of him being bucked off the gorilla!

Bobby's Birthday

So, this is not in order, but we are new to this blog thing and one day we will figure it out. For Bobby's birthday Amber and Kristin took us to this restaurant to try out the BBQ. We were expecting a redneck, place, but once inside it really was a posh place. And to food was great, especially the macaroni and cheese! The main reason we went, did you see the name?!! And check out what we found in the parking lot. Who goes out to eat with this in the back of the truck? Now you can see why we thought the place would be a little less than it turned out to be. No worries, Bobby didn't contract any diseases from touching it! Before lunch we went and saw "The Simpson's Movie." Hey it was Bobby's b-day. Who expected anything else? It was quite funny if we dare say!

Halloween

Here are our Halloween pictures, finally! Bobby was Thor and Mikelle was a butterfly. For Halloween we just went to out Ward Halloween party and passes out candy. The Saturday before we went to Israel's surprise birthday party where we also got to wear our costumes. Bobby was really excited about that.

We are the champions!

So our sports teams rock their respective worlds. The Spurs (Bobby) and the Red Sox (Mikelle) are the 2007 World Champions! It's good to be us. Oh, and someone screwed up Mikelle's name pretty bad; it was written as "Miguel."
